Having just registered on this site as a driver looking for passengers from Orielton (home) to Hobart (work), I tested the functionality of the "Search the Pool" function.
I was a little disappointed by the usefulness of this function, which is surely the core of the whole website's being, as after entering: From Location - Orielton, To Location - Hobart and Travel Date - 08/09/08, I was presented with a list of offers for rides from Sandfly, Launceston and several other distant locations, and my offer was not included.
Also, the From and To Location fields do not offer drop-down selection lists, despite looking like they should.
I think the "ease of use" factor needs some work, however the concept is great and well overdue. This has the potential to reduce the traffic load on our roads considerably, particularly in the outlying regional areas where many city commuters now live, provided the site is easy to use.

We can't find any record of your post. Could you try posting again and let us know if any errors are displayed. Posting is a two part process and you should see a 'Type and Place Details' and then a 'Ride Specifics' page before the post is submitted and then a confirmation page will display, including a map of the post you have submitted.
We did originally have drop-down functions for the search engine, but as there are more than 700 Tasmanian towns listed some users commented that this was a bit cumbersome. We replaced this with auto-complete fields, so if you type 'or', you should then be able to select from Orielton or Orford. This function relies on javascript being enabled in your browser, so if you can't see the auto-complete please check your browser settings and ensure than javascript is turned on.
