Disabled and New Pages on Cool Pool
Cool Poolers- Regular users may have noticed some subtle changes have occurred on our site. Here is a quick update for the new or seasoned carpooler.
Discussion Pool
After 3 years in operation now it has become apparent that the Discussion Pool- or cool pool chat page, is not being utilised. So, it has been disabled for the time being unless by popular demand you want us to bring it back (Perhaps there are too many other exciting social medias to engage for the time!).
Going my way this Summer? Printable Flyer Attached.
Hi Cool Poolers,
For the best chance to find a ride or passenger, please help us to spread the word by printing off the small flyers attached here and giving them out to your friends, or dropping off in your local shop, cafe.
Help a friend sign up and post a ride. Then, don't forget to keep posting and searching the pool for best results.
Thanks for your support in growing Tassie's Pool.

Why?
- Event Promotion for your Organisation
- C.A.R Star recognition (Carbon Avoidance Road Star)
- Easier connections for patrons sharing rides to your event/meeting.
- Easing parking pressures by promoting ride sharing to your event.
Winter Carpooling- TIPS
Winter is not sleeping in Tasmania.
There are plenty of events and destinations to see and experience during the cooler months. If you are heading to the snow and alpine, or special feature events such as the festival of voices- share the journey there by posting to offer or look for a ride.
All you need to do is register 'for free', then post your ride or search.
Registration will be effective immediately pending your email account is working (**Hint- check junk mail if the confirmation of account does not appear in your inbox).
Carpooling to 10 Days on the Island
It's one of Tasmania's greatest arts and cultural festivals that is opening on March 25th for just 10 days, and it only happens every 2 years! 10 Days on the Island.
Feast yourselves with 10 days of artistic installations, performances and creations through out Tasmania. If you are not sure how you'll get there, or don't want to travel alone, or are just mindful of your carbon footprint and the price of petrol right now (or perhaps all of the above!)- Post a ride with Cool Pool Tas.
Share the artistic journey here and there!!
Events This Summer
If you have an event coming up with a large fleet of people expected, or even a forum or meeting that you're planning- why not consider encouraging ride sharing there through Cool Pool Tas!
Cool Pool Tas can help patrons to your event make connections by advertising your event with instructions for how people can post and search for rides to and from the event on our EVENTS PAGE. If you are not an event organiser, but are connected to an event, or organiser- email them with this information!
Cool Pool Day in Focus
Tasmania's first carpooling day was organised by Cool Pool Tas on July 16, 2010.
Check out this short video to see how the Hobart Community responded.
We hope that next year all of the local councils in Tasmania will get behind a carpool day, and share in the growth of this new culture.
